Vancouver BC Saltwater Fishing Report
By Evan Patterson, Bites-on Fishing Salmon Charters | Last updated: January 9th, 2012
We have not been out for the past month as we are in the process of purchasing and new boat and re powering another. There has been some good reports coming from the Vancouver Harbour. The QB and West Vancouver Shoreline to the mouth of the Cap River has produced nice Winter Springs in the 8 to 12 pound range. The incoming to high slack tide seems to be the only tide that fishes well. Coyote spoons with and without flasher have worked as well as Anchovy trolled slow very close to the bottom. Crabbing has been good with lots of keepers on the Spanish Banks side of the Harbour. Chicken is the only bait we use for Crab.
Over the next month or so we will see the Winter fishing pickup. January and February are always goods months for Van Harbour. Have not heard any reports from the West side of Bowen as of yet so stay tuned as Hutt and Tunstall Bay should start to produce.
Good luck, tight lines and stay warm.
