Refereeing in the playoffs is a complete joke. Different set of rules for the regular season and playoffs.

So many cross checks & no call by refs.
Erik Karlsson was really given the lumber at his back ribs right in front of the ref.
you could see the pain all over his face. No call.
These teams go at it tooth & nail again in game 7.
In the mean time guess who is recharging & resting up ? Ya Nashville.
They had a good rest too before going head to head with the Ducks.
Bet they hope game 7 goes into  3 OT periods.
A rested team will be meeting a tired wounded team.
Talking about resting...Canuck players may have been to 50 golf courses & beaches all over the world by now.

A too rested team can also be very rusty.

In some cases very true.
Teams have come out flat as a pancake after a week or so off.
But it never hurt Nashville in the Duck series.
As mentioned they had a long rest.
Wonder if the score will be 7-0 like the last time Ottawa played in the Pens home rink ? Think not.

We've been rested for each of our series.  Rest after Chicago was very long but didn't hurt us at all.

After 3 period tied 2-2. Wow what a game.
Pens babbler mouth falls down & Pens score to go ahead 2-1.
Unreal. After all the other calls that were not made!!!
Hang the ref ( ha! )
Fortunately Sens tied the game.
All the best to both teams in OT.
All we need is PM Trudeau to show up during OT & wave the Canadian flag  ;D

2x

Like the Leafs also fought the Caps.
Infact Caps went down to defeat because they were a bit spent from thier "go" against the Leafs.

But returning to Ottawa ...how they & Anderson fought back after that 7-0 game.
Battled in game 6 for the W & in game 7 they battled right to the end.
Nashville who has beaten tough teams to get into the finals is going to battle it out with a team who also has fought hard to also be one of the two teams still standing.
Crazy goal...slap shot hits the Sens jersey & deflects a bit & still finds the top left corner.
Wow.
Fans who were to take their night pills before going to bed I think took them earlier tonight.
Blood pressure / increase heart beating ....
The defending Stanley Cup team of last season wants another championship.
If they ( Pens win Crosby & some other teammates it would be 3 Cups )
Now that Ottawa is out I now can cheer for Nashville but may the best team win.

To get back in the finals two yrs in a row one has to give the Pens their dues.
Lesser team would bow out early & have a nice long vacation.
80 % cheering on the Predators & 20% cheering on the Pens because of their sheer will & determination to want another Cup. Sweat pain travel bruises ...
Plus ex Pens coach is now Nashville coach.
He would like to get the big win over his former team/ organization.
Out coached your replacement coach kinda thing.
Should be a great series.
Nashville may get into penalty trouble if the refs call it a bit more by the book.
Pens have a super power play.

Pittsburgh takes game 1 with a 5-3 victory. Penguins lead 3-0 only to have the Preds come back to tie the game. Pittsburgh only had 12 shots on goal but they scored 5 goals !

The goal dis allowed ( offside. ) would of put Nashville up 1-0.
Suddenly Pens make it 3-0
Nashville dominates & ties game.
Great shot puts it 4-3 for Pens right after Nashville shot hits the crossbar.
Open net 5-3.
Pens won but Nashville had a big edge in play.
Not very physical.
Think both teams had rust after the long layoff.
FA was correct about rust but Pens had more rust than Nashville.
Get out the oil can from the movie Wizard of Oz.
Oil the joints.  FA says 5 goals on 12 shots "OUCH !"

Yeah, that one hurt.  Except for about 5 minutes, we totally outplayed and owned them.  Didn't score as often as we should have and just fall apart for a brief stretch including one horribly unlucky bounce.

I fully expect the Preds to come out on fire tomorrow night.  I doubt we will hold them to that few of shots but I fully expect us to win.  This was one of those games you played hard enough and well enough to win for almost the entire time.  It is the type of thing that just makes you mad.  It is like the boxer who spent the entire time beating up on his opponent only to have a brief period go against him and end up getting knocked down.  Then, the next time they face each other, there is no let up and the opponent gets pummeled.  I hope at least.

Very well written view of what took place.
What makes the Pens dangerous is many times their forwards get some space, thus they can really lean into their shots. A sniper shot is dangerous. Plus should it get stopped, the puck may rebound & it's whoever gets to it first.
If a Pen then the puck will get whacked hard & possibly find the back of the net.
Pin ball game.
Do think the Pens will be better as FA states in prior post.
They know it was highway robbery that they got the W.
Will the real Nashville Predators keep their cool & just keep skating hard.
Getting past the Ducks is a harder task than getting past the Pens so...Nashville should come out on top.
But lots of variables when it comes to a hockey game or series.
No puck bounces go your way...penalties...hot goalie....
20 quality shots are equal to 5 sniper super quality shots.
Thus a team may get 40 quality shots & still lose to the team that gets 10 sniper quality shots !!!!
If that does not scare Nashville players & fans nothing will. ;D
Nashville needs to keep up their checking skating but be more physical.
Clean hits will wear the Pens down.
Nashville is tough as nails thus Pens will take more than they can dish out in a physical game.
Hit them & skate hard & Pens will slowly put their tails between their legs.
Like the Leafs Oilers Flames Habs did....( will not include Ottawa )
Signed in again to add in Oilers to list.
Go Nashville Go ! 80% cheering for them.
Go Pens Go 20% cheering for them.
If they Pens win the Cup they deserve respect. 2 yrs in a row WOW.
Canucks in 45 yrs or so : ZERO Cups
Maple Leafs in 50 yrs : ZERO  Cups.
100,000 cups of coffee is all they have accomplished.

The Pens will be better.  I don't doubt that.  So will Rinne.  After a horrible game all season long, his next outing he averages like a .950 save percentage.  It is very consistent.  I expect him to look much better this game.

Our top 4 defense are shockingly quick and good with their sticks.  One play really highlighted it.  Crosby had a breakaway with Ellis right beside him.  Crosby fully expected Ellis to try and hit Crosby to get the puck away but Ellis was quick enough to reach in  and poke the puck which led to Crosby falling down because he was bracing for the hit.  That is a play that would almost surely be a score or at least an amazing save by the goalie in most other games but our guys didn't panic.  We are very used to getting our sticks in to mess up shots like that.  It should help reduce the sniper type shots.

Of course it is all a game of luck and a couple bad bounces will lose you the game and a couple good ones will win the game for you.  In the end though they usually even out.  I still believe that the Preds will win tonight.  I also think the Pens will have a really hard time winning in Nashville.  It is a huge advantage for the Preds.  I still feel Preds in 6.  If it goes 7, flip a coin.

Penguins scored 3 goals in a 5 minute span to take game 2. Preds are in trouble.
