Chum Salmon Retention Closures

Please note that coastwide chum salmon retention closures will come in effect this week due to the low returns in all rivers. The following notices should be read before your next fishing trip.
- Chum salmon retention closure in Queen Charlotte and Johnstone Straits
- Chum salmon retention closure in Non-tidal Fraser River and its tributaries
- Chum salmon retention closure in Area 29, including the tidal portion of Fraser River
While catch and release is still permitted, it should be done so with care. This article explains how catch and release should be practiced.
