Friend lost a rod
« on: September 13, 2022, 10:15:58 PM »

Posting for a friend who forgot his rod sockeye fishing. Feel free to pm me and I can get you into contact with him. Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I left my rod in the parking lot in Agassiz at the spot circled in red at ~7pm on Tuesday, September 13 (today). It is a Trophy XL (10'6") with a Shimano Corvalus reel on it with colourful braid. I think I also have my name and phone number on a label on the rod. I also included a picture of myself with the sockeye I got, in case someone recognizes me (This happy photo is before I lost my rod, I have a different face now). If you have it, would you please message me? It is my favourite and best fishing rod and I am really sad. Thank you.

Atlantic? That's a wild coho, not a sockeye.

R U serious?  You should learn to ID fish.  Atlantics have big spots on their gill plates.  100% wild coho.  Looks like an endangered interior one too based on where it was caught.

Another reason why this rec opening should not have occurred this late.

"I am really sad"
Not as sad as requiring you to claim your Trophy along with a summons to appear from the DFO regional office. Please provide photo identification to verify proof of ownership.

Un-f'n-real!

Both the OP and the 'friend' don't recognize that is a WILD Coho when they see it.  :o

I highly doubt anyone is gonna 'recognize' the lost rod and reel if they see it.... just sayin'  ::)

The "Atlantic" part was sarcasm. I was there and that was 100% a sockeye, no spots, no nothin', bad pic is all. Didn't see the rod though.

If you think this is a sockeye you should just take the lost rod as a sign to stop fishing
