Wayne Gretzky by process of elimination. Gretzky is the greatest hockey player ever despite what Don Cherry may think.  If he wasn't going to light the caldron he would at least been given the honour of running with the torch. Heck even is dad Walter has run with the torch.

both are good choices, but i believe that they both have already carried the torch, so i dont know if that means they arnt eligible to light the cauldron

I still think they have a plan to do something with Gretzky with in BC place as well as Trevor Linden, Micheal J fox, Steve Nash but I think it will be Betty Fox as she is the mother of Canada's greatest sports hero.
