Much less fish than previous weeks. Released two wilds. The peace in exploring new areas was delightful. It was indeed cold, I spent 1/4 of the time fishing and 3/4 by the fire .
Still sounds like a good day.....

We were cold this morning, but didn't have time to start a fire. ;D

Just got back from the Vedder fished around the dog park and got one chum (which was released in the water) and long-line released one coho and spring. I just fished some wool ties and a Ontario style bead.

I got 9 wilds and 1 hatchery this season, im doing something wrong to irk the wilds.
I noticed this years' Coho is on the smaller side compared to last two seasons, so the fights might not 'feel' great unless you have ultralight setup but cant risk it due to chum in the system too

Haha, same. Until this weekend I think I might've been like 15 wilds to 2 hatch's. Finally the tides turned this weekend.

The rain is coming in full force Thursday.  Weekend water level might get a bit too high.

We braved the cold wind this morning to get one more crack at these fresh coho salmon in the river right now. In the past 25 years since I've known her, I have introduced different fisheries to my good friend Erin. She has done pink salmon in the Fraser, rainbow trout in Interior lakes and ice fishing last winter, but never tried coho salmon. After 30 minutes of instruction on how to cast the baitcaster and control the float in the right drift, I thread a roe bag onto a hook. On the second cast, the float took a deep dive and out came this gorgeous hatchery coho salmon which probably just arrived from the Fraser River last night. Not bad for her first time. 😉

That's a troubling thought...  ;D

Rain is coming, better get out there today, maybe tomorrow morning, but might be too late by then.
