Also, there seem to be more draws and prizes that in this weekend's outdoor show at the Tradex!  :)
More of a boat show to me at the Tradex .
Not a lot of fishing gear etc .
I will have to meet at the table this weekend  ;D

Pretty good prizes for sure. ;)

This is not really the same as a trade show like Tradex. This is more of a grass root community event being supported by local businesses. There are two things we're trying to accomplish here. One is to promote responsible fishing. Two is to get as many people in this community together as possible so we can all have fun, work together under one roof for a day. My hope is by doing so, over time it'll lead to better communications as we deal with all the growing challenges in fisheries across the Lower Mainland.

See you all on the 9th, it's going to be good.

Most definitely, Rod. I had a great time last year at my table. It was gratifying to meet and talk with so many people from the fishing community. The variety of fishing types present was good to see. And Armytruck, my wife was saying the same thing about the number of boats. The other thing was the lack of swag and prizes. I was happy to see the support that Rod was able to come up with for this coming weekend- draws, etc. included.

Everybody, grab a friend and come on by. My table will have about 50 years of salt and freshwater gear, as well as a framed wildlife print and a pontoon boat. The goal is to get a bunch of fishing stuff that's just sitting there off the shelf and actively used... just like its present owner.😉

Alongside flyrod from this forum, I will have a table with decent quality vintage bamboo (Montague, Allcocks, Heddon), some custom built graphite fly and gear rods, a few Hardy flyreels, old books, etc.
Will also be taking orders for custom rod builds.

BTW. Nina is going to be selling off a bunch of my fishing gear at the used tackle sale... ::)
She'll have lots of trout spoons, a bunch of Frogg Toggs waders, boots and jackets (some have only been used a few times, some are brand new), got some Shimano gear, Islander fly reels...

Thanks FF, he told me last night. We'll give those away to the kids during our live show asking kids some fish related questions.

Here is the prize pack that Fred's has donated for the prize draw. There are four of them and the winners will be picked at 2pm on Saturday. If you're out steelheading on the Vedder on Saturday, you should drop by afterward to get your name in the draw.

One thing there is no entry cost to attend, and usually parking is by donation only, Rod can confirm that.  My table will have mostly Maple Leaf floats get one while they last.lol

I will try to get some signed by Matthews at the Leaf game in Vancouver tonight. ;D This is a bit off topic but I am meeting Fish Assassin before the Leaf game tonight to deliver the floats he won at the contest I put together for guessing the number of steelhead caught at the Boxing Day Derby on Dec. 26.
It will be good to met him in person after all these years of trading good natured trash talk on Sports Chat

Yep admission is free, this event is made available for everyone and money should not be the factor that stops people from coming. They'll be collecting donations for parking, I'm not sure which group is doing that this year. Last year it was the food bank I think.
