Did anyone go to Kawkawa Lk this morning? Still iced up or open water?

Gas is expensive - too cheap to go look myself. :-\

Was out there 3 days ago and had a look. Lots of ice on Kawkawa still. Maybe a week or 2 until ice off?

A couple of open patches, but can't be reached from the boat launch. It should be fishable in one more week... Otherwise two more weeks right after Chilliwack's All About Fishing.

My phone tells me starting Saturday, we're going to get a week of snowfall. That's going to set things back a bit.

On Sunday it was half frozen. A few people were fishing on open water. It was good - lot of action, on top - coho, close to the bottom - kokanee.

Drove out last night to see firsthand. Was there around 6:30pm. Didn't see anything rising - really surprised with that. Didn't see any ice from the main boat launch. Still snowbanks in the parking lot.

Went there today. Didn't get out myself due to mechanical issues but only other person put there said they didnt get any. Heard it was gang busters over the last week though.

Did anyone have any good action this past weekend? I decided not to go. I figured if I don't go for two trips to Kawkawa I can put that money that would have been spent on gas, toward buying a pair of ropes from Firstlight. I would get more enjoyment from the ropes than the two trips to Kawkawa.
