« on: September 29, 2014, 06:41:39 PM »

Only one thing to do. Get out there and slay them. Then report back. Get the stampede going. They'd be fresh ones if they're there.

They have arrived, not in the huge numbers, but nice to get out with almost no one in sight and majority of the fish are chrome or near chrome. Give it a try and report back. Good Luck out there.

Thanks guys. I found a nice area on the opposite side from the Hydro dam. For those who don't know, Hydro construction blocks parking on the Dam side so you have to walk a good 20min in, and some of that is via a muddy trail cause they politely kick ya off the road at the entrance gate.

What's the parking situation like this year?
Has it changed any on either side of the river since last year when most everything was shut down?

If you park on the Hydro side, taking the road on the East side of the bridge, you park WAY back and walk to the manned gate where they ask you to hike the rest off road. If you take the road on the West side of the bridge where the gas station is, you follow till its no parking  permitted on the road and park road side where its legal and 5min walk to the river entry.

Once they are running, which is now or soon, your odds are as good each side but the Hydro side has a pool you can float roe for ho's if your arms get sore from wrestling Chum all day.

I made it down to the West side of the river. Lots of anglers, but not overcrowded. Saw a steady amount of Chum rising, and watched about 15 get hooked by others. Sadly I was skunked. Beautiful day though, and lost zero gear so I was satisfied.

About 30% of the anglers were bottom bouncing with a little wool on the hook. I thought that was overkill for the stave, but after 3 hours that I was there, all three of them slayed a chum, and I left with out even a bite!! I short floated pink jigs, green jigs, and a red/pink corkie with deep red wool.

Really leadbelly? I was there from 10 to 1 west side closer to the dam.  and saw many jump and many fish on, though the guys hooking the most had waders and were casting into a honey hole and half the catches were snagged/foul hooked...
