Congrads to all the Fraser R shore fishermen/ladies.
Yous are doing as good as those who went out on boats to sports fish.
Know of two boats who had 2 & 3 people on board.
One boat hooked 10 fish but landed 3.
Other boat did better.

Thats part of fishing.

Often too many people rely on reports, test set numbers, etc. Yes, they are good tools but sometimes you just need to get out there and see whats happening for yourself, you can't catch fish from the couch. Sometimes you'll catch fish, other times not. Thats part of it and you'll learn a lot more the more time you have on the water.

over the years I've found the test sets very useful in determining if it's worth fishing above  Mission or doing something else. IMO the pink fishery is hyped beyond it's worth particularly these opening weeks when 90%+  the fish are still in the strait and staging.

Ya theres not many pinks in the river so just sit at home until next week when you can get one every cast.   This is too much like work getting one every 10 casts.  ;)   Nice cromers early in the season though.  Tasted great on the bbq last night!

I agree, it's still a bit early in season but they are there. Just time your outing right with the tides.

There is a new park along the shore in New West, but since it's a boardwalk,  might be difficult to land the fish

Had a go there early this morning on a strong outgoing tide - no luck but I was not expecting much.   I am surprised to hear people doing OK around No 3 road - this is still very early for pinks on the Fraser.

New West has always been my favorite area for them on account of being very close to home.

I live right in downtown new west so i have to make the most of it. I was there today from non to three. no action. Literally saw more sturgeon than pinks.

That being said, it was still an hour from high tide, and yes it is still early.

what does everyone figure? about another 3-6 days before the masses start moving?

I'm going ot try Steveston tomorrow.

There were lots of pinks moving through before the river opened. I counted 10+ boats netting out here in delta the last two days which could explain why people are getting fish near the mouth but not much up farther.

Just got back from the river -- south shore of Richmond. It was dead for 2 1/2 hours this afternoon, but then half an hour before high tide some fish came through and I had three bright males in short order (landed two). This in spite of the big boats dragging their nets across the river and the seals sending some mid-river fish (sockeye?) into some pretty impressive acrobatics. What a place to live!
