I caught my personal best coho (9lb hatchery buck) with it the last August. Could also be a good rod for fraser pinks. I used to pair it with Stella 3000MHG and 22lb Seaguar braided line (about same diameter with 8lb power pro), could cast a 3/4 ounce spoon out 80m away, a few times almost hit the boats trolling in front the sand bar (if you ended up having this rod please feather the spool and control your casting). I imagine 15lb powerpro braid could easily do 60m+ with one ounce spoon/buzz bomb.
