Took the Float tube and 5 layers of clothes to Mill Lake on Fri. Almost no fish rising and got a bite stripping a leech that got me excited. 2 hours in and nothing, then a guy killing it (from shore!) using subsurface told me to get it together and do the same, and landed 2 almost right away after I switched.I guess I was fishing too deep -  thank you for saving my butt friend! Walked out of the lake not feeling any of my feet but with a big smile

Always a good feeling the first trout of the year, and it's only going to get better. If you look closely you should see the fly still in its mouth:

Another release yesterday.  Most local Lakes received 2000 fish so far this year. Lafarge got 3000.  Rice only has 1000.  Hastings received nothing yet.

Rice only got stocked this time around as it had ice still 2 weeks ago. Went there this morning first light before work and and even it was so early 4 anglers in the pier. Pretty good day, with 10 bites and 7 trout landed in about 1.5hour, both stripping flies and under an indicator. Lots of fish jumping which was good to see. Great way to start the day!

This was this week's stocking plan. It's pretty much on target, I just watched the truck coming back to the hatchery after doing the two lakes.

March 21;
                Como                    1,000
                Lafarge                 1,000
                G.Timbers           1,000
                Rice                        1,000

March 22;
                Browning             3,000
                Sanctuary            500

Confirmation later.
