Those are confirmations directly from the hatchery manager and available on Go Fish BC's Facebook page. The information is usually not entered into the database for a few days.

Lafarge, Green Timbers, Como and Rice were stocked yesterday.

Hastings did not get stocked yesterday as planned due to time constraint, but will be done next week.

Any reason the hatchery is hole punching one of the gill plates? Was at rice lake this morning, was on fire 18 fish to hand including 3 smalllll coho. All had a hole in the gill ( except the coho obviously ).

Hi Shawn, the hole punched gill plates are part of the mark and recapture study done by GoFishBC to determine angling participation at these urban lakes.

Another 1,000 fish were released into Lafarge Lake today.

This release was special as GoFishBC celebrated its 10th year anniversary and the release of 95 millionth fish, with some help from Honourable Steve Thomson, Minister of Forest, Lands and Natural Resource Operations.

Do they announce when the big broodstock fish get put in to the few lakes they go into?

Brood stockings occur in late November/early December, and I will have those updates available on the website too.

Sorry everyone but there will no longer be any brood releases into lower mainland lakes from the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery.  We have moved our broodstock program to the Vancouver Island Trout Hatchery.

Like Rodney said our last scheduled stockings will be tomorrow.

Cheers,

Dean

To hell with poachers, I never got my shot at a giant...

So then all broodstock will be released into lakes on the island?
