Chehalis - spring (chinook)

Is there spring in Chehalis? When would be the best to to fish for them?

That time has already passed for this year, if you wanted some that were in good shape anyways.  Usually, in sept, but I don't really fish spring.  So someone else could probably give a definate answer!!! ;D ;D

well there still in there for the fight. but as for eating and be chrome well there maybe a few kickin around in the deeper pools. my friends dad got a chrome one outa there in late november.

the other day i got a few springs. They were monstors too. They were not chrome but they were not in bad shape. Definatly wackable for the smoker.

I think these old Springs are rotting inside by now. The quality of the meat will be so low it's not worth taking. If you think they're still good just look at some of the dead spawned out fish on the shore. I'll bet you'll see some that you might think look okay. Cut open that dead fish and see what the flesh looks/smalls like. The choice is yours.

I agree with reiber I think the vast majority of springs on the chehalis will be gross now. 

I found on 45+ lber lying on its side half dead, there are definitely some huge fish there.  On a side note I believe these springs have the same genetics as the transplanted vedder whites.  We all know the meat quality of a vedder white and how quick they turn so use your experience there as a reference point (I think most of the ved whites right now are boots too).

Why would you want to keep one of those boots when there are tasty coho to be had?  ???
