Hi all,

I've read a lot about all of the fishing that you do, but I'm curious about all of the fishing that you haven't done but want to?  Where, what or how have you always wanted to fish but haven't yet?  What are your fishing fantasies?

Please keep them "G" Rated    Perhaps you'll find someone here that has done it and can tell you what it's really like!


Of coarse I'll start:  I've always wanted to go deep ocean jigging in Alaska.  Big lings, big butts (halibuts that is), snappers, mmmm.

Either of these would keep me happy 

Put on a pack, with a rod or two, and hike a northern river during salmon season. Preferably one of the classified catch and release rivers, fewer people, more fish. Love to be chopper-dropped in one of the upper areas and hike downstream, fishing all the way.

Be dropped off on a beach with a pack, a rod or two and a rod spike. Nice to have a small boat to go out a bit and fish for bottom fish off the beach. West Coast VI is a suitable location, as is the West Coast of the QCI's. See some really gnarly weather, and be able to retreat to a tent at night.

Kayak/camp the remote chuck of the Northern QCI's (west coast could be a little harsh for a solo kayak) for a week or so, beach camp all the way.

Mine would be being able to drive, so I could get to any river, lake or stream i wanted to fish!

Land a crome 50 lb + spring on my single handed fly rod with out the aid of a boat. Hooked many in that size range but have yet to land one. One day I will and everyone will know about it because I will have the size, date, rod w, and fly tatooed on my right bicep.

I think I have two actually:

1.)  Under warm Caribbean sunshine on a boat sipping cold bottles of beer watching countless yellowfin tuna and dorado hammering lures behind the boat.

2.) Returning to the head of River's Inlet for another shot at those monsters before the killer whales showed up that day.  Otherwise, try out the QCIs and try for monster chinook and big halibut.

That scene from brother where art thou? Where the guys come across those three lovely ladies washing laundry by the river..., I could cast into that water for hours knowing I'd never get a bite.
