Attention Vedder River anglers!The annual Help Habitat Fundraiser is coming up again. This year's event will take place on
Saturday October 22nd from 12 noon to 2:30pm at the Chilliwack Fish and Game Clubhouse. The event is put on by Chilliwack River Action Committee, a group that has done some wonderful projects to restore habitat of the Chilliwack/Vedder River.
The event includes a raffle draw. Three cash prizes are available (you do not need to attend the fundraiser social on Oct 22 to claim the draw, they'll mail you the money if you win).
1st - $1000.00
2nd - $500.00
3rd - $250.00
There are 500 tickets available, each ticket is $10.00.
Other features of this year's fundraiser event include a free lunch, door prizes, silent and live auctions for sporting good merchandise.
All fund raised will go towards current and future projects by the Chilliwack River Action Committee.
Projects by CRACPast and ongoing projects by CRAC include stabilization of the Slesse Park and Tolmie clay slides, creation of spawning channels, nutrient enhancement. For more information on projects, please visit

By supporting this, you are not only helping them to help the river, but also create better fishing in the future. More spawning channels and higher nutrients mean more fish. Stabilization of the clay slides means more fishing days as the river will less likely to be dirty during heavy rainfalls. I urge you all to buy at least one ticket.
Tickets are available at local tackle stores in Chilliwack. They are also available from me if you are around Richmond (please pm or email to set up a time to get them from my place).
