The best bait for chum

I was planing on heading out to a local river this afternoon with my friend and we were just wundering what would be best to hoook on a couple of chum

Chum are very aggressive and will attack just about anything thats presented right. By anything I mean, roe, wool, spinners, spoons, jigs, flies etc. If you're fishing flowing water I would go with wool, roe or colorado's. If you're fishing backwaters try spinners, spoons, jigs or on the fly if you have the gear.

Sounds like a size 2 blue fox would be a good candidate, although I'll bet that one of Rodney's spinners would work equally as well.

so the watter has a current whats the best to use .. and when the watter is more still whats the best thing to use the watter is about 3 feet in depth

If the water is flowing I would consider using wool or roe or maybe a small colorado. One thing to consider when dealing with such shallow and presumably clear water is that the fish will be spooky so keep your distance, wear clothes that do not stand out and do not make any sudden movements.

in that shallow of water would a spinner or spoon work....and how would you tie the wool

i find roe sacs work for chum in faster moving water the best ;)
