Hey Mike, no offense was meant....i was just trying to make a simple point: lets not abuse the fraser river floss fishery.

With stronger stocks and cooler river temps back then, maybe a few catch and released socs WAS OK, but now a days with fragile stocks and warm water....I don't think catch and release is an option for these long haul fish (socs or springs).

I saw guys out at peg leg after sockeye season.  I was there for a spring as I had 5 or 6 on the tag.  To my DISGUST  they had tagged out before sockeye even ended!!!! there were doin catch and release on springs...socs...a coho...etc.

Thats the last trip I made to the fraser out side of a sockeye opening.  Its crap like that we need to avoid.

laidlaw ya or w/e it is.. go past chilliwack on your way to hope. there will be a sign that says jones/laidlaw. take it then turn left underneath the overpass.. There should be a bunch of cars, walk through the trees, cross the little runoff area and walk toward the river. then see the massive crowds.

I believe the FA had an opening the other day as I saw 2 drift boats and 6 in the water...when I went over the Rosedal bridge... that isn't a good place to be doing any illegal actions either...if you know what I mean....

Its a meet fishery - virtualy ZERO sport: heavy gear and no playing a fish out because of the crowds...

Once you have your limit...pac it in please!  The fish counters on all the bars are looking for that and if they hear of a lot of "hooked" and released sockeye, that will be more ammo to shut down the fraser to flossing.

Gooey, I could'nt have said it better myself, if people start to accept this fishery for what it is "a meat fishery" (harvest), I hope this sockeye flossing debate might end.  I don't wish to start the flossing debate again this year.

never seen a soul bar fish at laidlaw.. BB is good i guess. It seems people on the fraser are like fish. They follow each other in schools. They dont seem to spread and go to quite parts (unless they are smart).
