Las Vegas takes game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals in an exciting finish.

Crazy...did not want to watch the game at 5-8:30 pm as it was sunny & did not want to watch the boob tube. ( 50% I wanted to watch at 5pm )
Normally do not drink beer but after beers put on the replay & literally was watching the opening music & "let's get ready to rumble" Michael Buffer (sp?) & next thing I wake up & it's 4-4 third period.
Yes 5-4 then 6-4.
Vegas wins.
Watched so little of the game have no idea how the total flow of the game went.
Not going to drink beer again. Made me fall asleep too early.

Watched today (Tuesday) & what fast skating. What action. Caps did their thing. Knights did their thing.
Smoke cleared & Knights get the W ......barely.
How did the puck not go in the Knight net & get the game tied up 5-5 with 9 minutes to go in the 3rd period??
One play the Cap player made a perfect pass to a Cap player standing in front of the net with Fleury out of position. The net was totally wide open & the puck only two feet in front of the net. Cap just had to shoot it into the WIDE OPEN NET & he missed it.
Vegas Knights army has grown. Defeating the West land air sea & now the Caps are invading...they are here. Vegas Knights come out of the lit up helmet !!! Grapes was wearing the Knight jacket at ice level before the game. Guess that was not appreciated by OV & Cap players & Cap fans.
Fleury in the league 14 yrs & OV 13 yrs...they have been a thorn in each other's butt.
Both teams great skating teams skilled & can play physical. Toss up who will win the Cup even though Vegas up 1-0 in games.

Had tons of things to do today so watched the game taped /recorded at 11pm.
Hard fought game but Caps definately deserved to win. They skated hard & at times seemed like they had the puck on a string. Actually Caps or Knights could of won the 1st game & in many ways the 2nd game was a toss up. Caps/Knights tied up 1-1 in the series.
Caps have played bad games in Washington but they smell blood like a shark & they want the CUP.
No room to play lame games when in the finals. Knights will regroup.
Next game is two trains same tracks each going the opposite direction. Only one team will win game 3 after the smoke clears.
Wow this is top level hockey & joy to watch 
Go Knights Go but Caps are worthy to hoist the Cup that is for sure.

Yahoo finally get to watch the game live instead of recording 5-6 later after the fact.
Game 3 in a Washington.
Both teams are playing very hard.
Both look hungry.
Should be a great game!!!!
Starting in a few minutes!! Go Knights Go.
EDIT IN : 2nd period over & lots & lots of chances for the Caps. Score is 2-0 & one period to go.
Wash. should have at least 4-5 goals at this point because they have had so many chances. Puck stopped or they shot wide or hit the post. Knights should have 1-2 goals but they fanned on shots or shot wide or Holby made the save. Knights also have hit 1-2 posts.
Score should be 4-5 goals Caps & 1-2 goals for the Knights.
Are the Knights crazy ? When Caps have the man advantage they are not pressured at all so they set up at will. No checking at all. Makes it look like a 2 man advantage instead of 1.
Caps can just blast the puck with no pressure on power plays.
Caps are taking over this series. More aggressive more checking more offence ...
They look so full of energy & it's the Knights who are looking more tired trying to get the puck away from the Cap players.
Hockey is hockey & full of surprises sometimes. 2-0 so next goal is big big big. 2-1 anything can happen & 3-0 will be a nail in the coffin & no way Knights at that point will win game 3.
Looks like the Caps night from what I see. Cream coming to the top.....
EDIT IN: Caps win 3-1 & totally deserving.
Maybe the Knights will wake up after 2 straight losses. They are a good rebound team all season.
Will they be men or be boys. Caps are going to play hard every game as they only need two W's & the Cup is theirs.
Next game is big. 3-1 or tied 2-2 !!!!

Knights fanned on so many shot attempts or got their shots blocked & they shot wide so many times.
Think the Knights have not faced a team like the Caps. Caps just go full out 60 minutes with no let up.
It's the Knights who are bending to the pressure.
( side note BC Lions played exhibition game in Calgary. Orange / reddish jersey & black pants & the Stamps wore their reddish tops & black pants.
It was a staring match or had to take that extra look as both teams blended in & harder to tell who was who. Must of been hard for the QBs to pick out their man  "crazy" )

Game 4 .
Watching live but turned tv on with 10 minutes to go in the first period & just in time for a Cap PP goal.
I 'll watch the first 10 minutes of the game tonight on the replay. Understand Knights had chances oh no another Cap goal. When the going gets tough the tough get going. Let's see what the Knights are made of. If Vegas loses tonight it 's 3-1 in games & it's good night Irene I think.
EDIT IN:  4-0 at end of the 2nd period.

All Vegas has to do is score  goal every 5 minutes in the third which will make it 4-3 & then score a goal in the next four minutes. That will tie the game. The final minute Vegas scores in 59 secs.
Vegas wins 5-4! Simple as eating apple pie & ice cream 2 scoops. Ice cream make it chocolate.
Shi_ !!!! It does not look good for the Knights. They have a very bad leaking tire in the last 3 games. Not going far. Boo boo boo boo boo.
Ok they lose but they win in Vegas thus series will then be 3-2 Caps. Caps get nervous & lose again 3-3 in games. Game 7 in Vegas oh ya !

Yes the Knights have & are feeling the pressure of the finals. They looked overwhelmed in Washington but as they realize their backs are against the wall they seemed to play more offensively in the 3rd period in game 4. Of course penalties got more goals for the Caps.
Honestly if the Knights win the next game in Vegas the series is 3-2. Then the Caps know they want to win so bad in game 6 or else it's back to Vegas for game 7 & they sure do not want that to happen.
Vegas has to play like they can & check hard in their end & play 1 period at a time & see what happens.
When the tough times come the tough get going 
Wind back the clock so Cinderella can keep dancing in her nice dress & golden slippers. Go Vegas go!
(Mind ya have so much respect for OV & their coach ( he'd make a good actor for Dracula )
 
EDIT IN : Game 6 in Vegas on Thursday. Nice rest between final games. Teams will be ready to go.
Boys ( Knights ) go out & have 3 beers or two glasses red wine on Wed ( today )
But....Caps put it on TNAangler's tab & have a baker's dozen 13 beers or 2 bottles red wine each.
Vodka 2 bottles for OV. 
Easy pickings on Thurs.
Get the ice shovels & clean up the puke off the ice !!! ( vomit hangover pre game meal )

EDIT IN 2: OV & gang really boozed it up so easy pickings in today's game. Hangover plus.

Congrads to the Washington Caps & OV.
OV is a Super Star & all Superstars should get the Stanley Cup in their career. But it takes a team effort to win the championship & they are deserving for sure.
Knights had a great season & played super kicking out the Kings Sharks & Jets.
Washington were so good in every aspect of the game. Goal defense & offence.
They wanted it & would not be denied.

Yippee, season now over, bring on October when the Leafs start their march to the Cup. Oh, we still have the Marlies to watch as they are taking the Calder Cup in a few days.

Yes the season is over but with the Calder Cup on the boob tube it should help with hockey withdrawal symptoms.
CFL football looks so slow & boring compared to a good competitive playoff NHL game.
Honestly thought the Knights would of won at least 2-3 games in the finals.
Guess winning 1 game is better than the NBA Golden State Warriors beating the Cleveland Cavs 4-0 in games for their 3rd Championship in 4 yrs. 3 W's & 1 loss in the finals in 4 straight yrs.
Oct has a new slate & all the best to the 31 (?) teams to win it all.
