Then Edmonton had what's his name. Straight on kicker. He'd change shoes & tie a string around the front & around the back of his shoe.

Your a walking CFL encyclopedia.
Those were the Eskimo hay days.
4-5 Grey Cups in a row. One record that would be hard to beat for sure.
Moon Wilkerson Letterman...great QBs
Past post on this trend was mentioned about 11 TDs scored by Western.
Score run up. No mercy rule here.
The story I thought about was Vic Rapp Head coach of the BC Lions & were beaten badly in Edmonton or was it in Winnipeg ?
Edmonton I believe.
40-50 plus to BC Lions low score.
Another TD was scored near the end of the game & Vic Rapp pulled a temper tantrum like Torts.
He's running across the field going towards the other coach...Lion players grab him ...he thought it was an insult to run up the score.  ;D
Ya just gotta love the CFL.
Honestly with 9 teams each year there is a renewed expectation to try to be 1st in your division & after that all it takes is two wins to be Grey Cup champs. Realistic goals for each team.
NFL there is so many teams something tells me that 80% of the players think there is no way we will be Super Bowl champs. What are the odds ?
These average teams try but kinda know they are going no where.
CFL it's dif. as they can go all the way with either 2-3 wins in a row at play off time.
Bring it on...Grey Cup.
Henry Burris believes Argos QB will retire & go out on a winning note if they win the Grey Cup. Like Burris did. Makes sense.
As far as Jason Maas goes there have been many posting that a field goal was kicked via odds on the final score ( pt spread ) via Vegas...
Gee hope that is not the case. Remember Pete Rose of of Reds baseball team. Lots of suspicion.
Love of $ is the root of all evil.  Robbery fraud dis honest vehicle repairs, on & on...
Hitler wanted the world to be his. All the gold silver factories ...I own it all.

Yahoo !
Argos coach Tresman QB Ray & so many other of their players are Bible Thumpers.
Actually it was a miracle win finish for sure.
Argos win the Grey Cup & a Stamps lose again for the 2nd straight time.
The snow helped the Argos in this one.
Stamps & Buffalo Bills losing Grey Cup / Super Bowl.
Lots of exciting plays by both teams in not so good field conditions.
Wow Stamps had it in their fingertips & it all slipped away. "again"

Typical CFL finish ! Stampeders had the game won except for that ill timed fumble by Jordan. Argos were slipping and sliding in the first half. They changed their footwear at the half and seemed to have a big difference. Two records were set in the game: 100 yards passing touchdown and a 109 fumble recovery

FA well said. Typical CFL finish. Hollywood could not write up a better story even if their budget was 500 million dollars.  ;D
Good point on the changed foot ware by the Argos.
Stamps scored first & tried to go for the 2 pt conversion. Failed. Say if they got it or they kicked for just a pt at the final march they only would of been down by either 1-2 pts & not by 3 pts.
They were 2nd down & say if they were down by 1-2 pts surely they would of just ran the ball & then kick a close field goal for the win.
The blunder Esks coach did last week the Stamps also blundered being down by 3 pts threw for a TD attempt but their man had 2 man coverage & it was picked.
You just know Stamp fans now must be wondering why they just did not run the ball & if it failed they then kick the field goal for the tie.
My bet is Mitchell did not want the extra pressure of overtime as last yr they lost in OT.
But throwing into 2 man coverage ?????
Ricky Ray should retire & go out on this big win. Retire in style like Burris did.
Ali could of retired as a champion but he boxed more fights & got pounded.
Against Larry Holmes Ali was basically a punching bag & had zero offence.
Ricky Ray loves playing but he 's 38 & had injuries ,& he's won 4 Grey Cups so what a perfect time to bow out. Go out a winner. He can have a smile the rest of his retirement days.
Why risk a major injury or bad year & retire in a sour taste in one's mouth.

How about Shania Twain's entrance to the half time show. Pulled on a sleigh by a bunch of huskies. Canadiana........doesn't' get better than that.

She's a star!
Dead Pat Burns the old CJOR radio talk show guy would say " How ya doing doll?"
Thought it was a super performance.
She got stardom & then found out her mate was unfaithful. She got really hurt & did not trust anyone & Through the years she made a comeback. She looked happy.
Wonder if the music & singing was all faked as may be a bit dangerous to play all the electronics with snow coming down.
Now that the Stamps have lost 2x in a row if they make it to the dance next year I just may find it in my heart to cheer them on unless of course the Lions are on the other side of the ball.
( cross over playoffs it is possible for a Lions / Stamps Grey Cup game unreal.
At least not as bad as the Baltimore Stallions  vs ???;D

Ed Harvey is the new Lion Gm.
Wally B is the head coach for at least one more year.
He does not want to go out on a losing note.
Guess seeing the pain the Stamps went thru,Wally's pain is a little less.
Wally & Lion fans pain somehow is not so painful when one sees how the Stamps flopped. Now that's real pain. After Ottawa won the Grey Cup in 2016, so many players did not return to the 2017 team.
Even the Blackhawks after winning the Stanley Cups 2000s they would lose 3-4 key players each year...
Stamps are going to lose a few key players to free agency thus their team will be dif next year.
Ed H is from at the Esk organization. Was he not a D back for them & then he became their GM for a few years? If Wally is going to get some wins in 2018 their offence has to get it together.
He also has to get alittle more lively on the sidelines & get his troops in gear if they look sluggish.
Don't just stand there shaking his head in the first qter ...
Get on his men early in the game.
Baltimore beat Stamps in Grey Cup with Wally as head coach.
Stamps were so bad in the 1980s the team nearly folded.
Stamps had a few good seasons in 1970s & thru 90s & then in the last 6-8 years...
For my interest the CFL is so exciting.
Every ex NFLer who comes up to the CFL they all say they are so surprised at the high quality of football.

Ed Hervey was a wide receiver when he played for the Eskimos. Still undecided whether this is a good move going forward. Definitely not enough to make me rush out to renew my season tickets. Would like to see more changes in the coaching ranks.
