Super Bowl 2017
« on: February 06, 2017, 12:41:15 PM »

Watched the sports report with a Squire Barnes on Global BC a few minutes ago & he made some interesting observations. How does Brady QB & team win this years Super Bowl & the one 2 years ago ?
Against Seattle the Seahawks decide to pass instead of run for a TD & there is an interception.
One yard line & they passed ?????? Seattle missed the chance to get the win with so little time on the clock.
New England wins.
Yesterday they are down 28-3 & with 4 down football each series drains the time on the clock.
Patraits chip away at the score & are within a TD / 2 pt conversion to tie it with only minutes left in the game. Atlanta has the ball in field goal range & all they have to do is run the ball & kick for 3 pts.
That would seal the deal as New England would have to need to score 2 x & there is just not enough time on the clock.
What does Atlanta do? Shoot themselves in the foot like Seattle did.
Try to pass & Ryan gets nailed & sacked. Then there is a holding penalty & more loss yards.
Now they are out of field goal range.
Patraits get the ball back & a TD & 2 pt conversion to tie the game!!!!
In OT New England wins the coin toss & on their first possession march down the field & get the TD & win.
The odds of the above are like 1000-1 that in these two Super Bowl situations that they would get the W because their backs were against the wall big time.
Like in the Grey Cup the Stamps were in a good position to win at the end of the game but somehow Ottawa pulled through against the odds.
Just imagine how the Atlanta fans feel today & Falcon players coaches owner....
You just know many gamblers put big $$$$ on an Atlanta win & with the basically miraculous comeback by New England the $$$$ faded away...Many gamblers are just shaking their heads with WT_ on their lips. The other guys / dolls who bet $$$$ on Brady & gang are totally in bliss.
This game from being a super bore & one sided game became the greatest comeback possibly of all time.

Some good points A-BOATER. I thought the turning point was the Ryan fumble on 3rd and 1. Bad playcalling in my opinion. You're deep in your own end and you call a pass play on 3rd and 1. Three things can happen on a pass play and two of them are bad. They should have ran the ball. If you fail you can punt. The turnover gave the Pats momentum and they never looked back.

Totally agree. Did you see Brady's face when Ryan fumbled. His whole face shined & eyes were popping out of his head. He knew they had a chance.
So many key plays in this Super Bowl. Key catches.
2 pt conversions. Winning the coin toss in OT on & on...
Some say Brady should retire as he has nothing more to prove & he can go out on a major positive note.
5 Bowl wins.
But honestly he & his key players have fuel in the tank / skills / desire so with his love for the game & for the team I believe he will play for 1-2 more years. Think he's about 39 & that 's up there in age. He took lots of hits in this game.
Basically everything went right for the Falcons in the 1st half & early in the 3rd qtr. & then the big comeback.
