Advanced Fly Tying Class
The Advanced Fly Tying with instructor Dennis Gamboa is a fully-loaded 1 day class where students will learn the proper techniques for using UV light resin and epoxy. The class will cover both fresh-water and salt-water species, from tiny trout flies to large epoxy saltwater patterns. You’ll also learn how to blend material, use tubing and sleeving techniques with various types of Mylar piping. In addition, we will be using a variety of modern materials to cover new and advanced techniques.
Dennis Gamboa from The Fly Box will be your Instructor for the Workshop. Dennis has been teaching fly tying classes for over 15 years all over the Lower Mainland. His specialty is Saltwater flies from local waters to exotic destinations he is a Master of the art of commercial tying with over 20 years experience on his Regal Vise. His creativity and design has earned him a spot on The Lagartun Pro Staff Team and has also been selected as a Partridge Pro Member of Redditch to represent the West Coast of BC Canada.
Pre-requisite: Fundamental fly-tying class or equivalent experience.
Note: Materials will be supplied by the shop. Students will be required to bring their vice and tools.
