That was one hell of an overtime period until the Canucks got caught in a bad change.
Pretty shitty I was thinking the refs should have just let them play, but the replay was very obvious.
He had to make the call. 4 skaters on when only 3 allowed.
Overtime was exciting !
Lots of space to really skate hard & get into open ice thus dekes or wind up slap shoots can be taken.
Players today skate so well thus the game is check check & check. No open ice to make plays.
Wish the NHL rinks were European sized. More room to make plays.
Ryan Miller stood on his head in this game.
Without his good performance the Canucks would not have gained a pt.
Maybe my view of his overall play will change if he keeps playing at that calliper !

Vancouver in shoot outs are not very good.
Skater got to skate in & about 15 feet in front of the net let a heavy wrist shot go & aim for top or ice level corners.

Honestly, if you love this team, then give yourself the 5 minutes and 40 seconds to watch this video. Remember the good days, and bad days. They're all part of this team's rich history. Enjoy it.

Wow lots of memories. Maple Leafs have had so many great players. I can still recall in my mind of players skating or making saves. Ron Ellis liked to skate over the blue line & take a slap shot.
Tiger Lanny & Daryl line. George Armstrong. Paul Henderson. Keon. Eddie Shack.
They do have more Cups than any other team except the Habs have more but when it comes to $ the Leafs are worth over a billion dollar.
Top spot in the NHL.
& that's in USA dollars.  :)
When are the Leafs going to retire Tiger's & Pat Quinn's #s.   :o

Against the perennial bottom feeder in the Edmonton Coilers. They won 8 games this season. :)

Miller benched after 2 quick goals in the 3rd period. Just what the Ducks ordered.
Canucks need some sort of spark as they look as flat as a pancake.
There's Willy again on tv;  the headcoach shaking his head in unbelief.
Reminds me of John Torella "Torts" abit.
But Torts had more of a stunned zombie paint in the corner expression.
Willy just may need pills to lower blood pressure or blood thinner pills.
Maybe just too many air miles & 30,000 feet in air that will affect the physical body.
Oilers got Cups & had to fly alot???

I do admire your optimism Chris ::)  Sadly, my Canucks are probably worse than your Leafs about now >:(
Perhaps in 3 or 4 years our teams will have rebuilt enough to meet in the final ... yeah, right!!
