https://seawestnews.com/we-protect-wild-salmon-while-farming-salmon-for-canadian-families/

“ Wealthy, urban activist groups in Vancouver spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to bombard your social media with   misleading information about salmon farming. Rather than spending that money on wild Pacific salmon revitalization projects or habitat restoration, they flood your phones with emotive images and oversimplified statements with the intent to sway government decision-makers and ultimately harm our communities and our rights as Indigenous peoples.”

99% of First Nations are against salmon farms.

Saw this interesting article on the UBC website: https://science.ubc.ca/news/salmon-virus-originally-atlantic-spread-bc-wild-salmon-farms
It talks about the PRV virus that comes from infected Atlantic eggs from Norway that causes kidney and liver damage in Chinooks here.

Illegal to insert infected fish into the ocean - a First Nations tribe has a court case against DFO for this issue.

I don't think the ROC gives a dam about open net salmon farming in BC and won't even blink if they all disappear. Salmon farming interests have started to move to the Maritimes and plan big expansion but already are encountering similar issues and opposition as has been seen in BC:
