I read somewhere about yellow coloured ones having some sort of disease or something that can cause people harm

A yellow salmon is not going to give you a disease... come on, how is a cold blooded animal disease going to infect you?

It's all media hyped BS pumped out by Morton. When she says "flu-like" that doesn't mean you're going to get the flu, it means that it is similar to a flu virus, but it only effects salmon and presents as flu like symptoms in salmon. In fact, for any one to make claims that it will make you sick is nonsense, mostly because no one even really knows what is causing the yellow salmon at this point. She'd of course like to believe it is fish farm caused, I highly doubt it.

The only thing you'll ever catch from fish is parasites, worms, etc if you don't cook them properly.

Alexandra Morton is doing significant work in the cause of preserving wild salmon and does not deserve gratuitous trashing. She deserves our support -- and gratitude.

You would be right. These were 2 fish from the commercial seine opening that took place in Howe Sound this year.

I saw this in a sockeye a few years back as well, again in a commercial fishery.

While you may not contract the same disease that the salmon is carrying,  I cannot imagine that eating any diseased animal, cold blooded or not, would be good for you.  It is precisely the fact that we don't exactly know what is causing the yellowing of the salmon that I would advise not eating one, unless you are starving to death, in which case one death is as good as another.

Are you sure it's girth was 15?

If you do the formula length x girth squared / 690 = fish weight

That is only a 11.7

And clearly that fish is not
