dewdney/norrish creek
« on: November 13, 2012, 08:34:12 PM »

i am new to mission. i am trying to find directions to the norrish creek/dewdney slough confluence. how to get there.  i cant handle the crowds on the vedder. maybe this location would be  less populated ? would like to try for cohos and chums. any help how to get there would be great.

Not to be rude or anything but try good maps or if you're in mission take a drive to inch creek hatchery and take a look around. There's even maps and info boards at the hatchery.

I'm not trying to be rude as well,  but if someone were to post what you are asking for, that location wouldn't be less populated anymore and it would be just as crowded as the vedder.  (In fact it probably already is)

I had the vedder virtually to myself on Saturday and Monday...
And, uh.... I didn't catch anything. ::)
Sounds like they're all over there already.

Ha,ha Norrish less crowded.
You are in for a rude awakening....

Vedder is about 30 or so KM long from limit to limit and almost all fishable.
Not many other rivers are that long.

Find your sweet spot.

That place is fished out and full of garbage.  I wouldn't waste my time there.  I would stick to the better known/main flows.  Now that the Ho's are pretty much done, time to hit the local stocked lakes for some decent action.

I was there before the hos were in, and ite was much worse than the vedder. Lots of spots open, but none that would hold a coho. Wau worse than last year.

Actually Norrish Coho are not that great anyway.
Their meat is pinkish.
Nothing like the Vedder.

I just want to know how you get the "shrimp roe" on the hook?  Those eggs are tiny! ;)
