« on: August 03, 2012, 09:58:40 PM »

lol... from the superstore !

funny thing there cheaper than pinks right now

So I think I just saved about $30 or more from buying there than if there was an actual opening !

also the price of farmed YUKKK Atlantic Salmon was super cheap ! like $6 for a big fish ! I hope they all rot ! lol

they also had wild coho ??? small fish but any where around $6-$8

How much was it per kilo ? I can't read it
I buy salmon from superstore often when there on a good price , month and half ago I was buying copper river sox for 11$ a kilo and chrome chum for $6.60 , a coho was priced with the chum and I luckily grabbed it , I can't blame the boats so many fish and they all look the same .

It is not from last year it says fresh on it . It doesn't say frozen or previously frozen.

Don't be fooled by the word fresh. I've seen a lot of fish described as being fresh. Upon closer examination it is evident that it's well past it's "best before date"  The fish was fresh when it was originally caught

8.77/ kilo. This fish for sure is from last year. Thats less than 4.00 dollars/pound. Red chinook right now goes for about 8.00/pound so fresh sockeye at a superstore would be a little more expensive me thinks.

Rules are very strict when it comes to labeling whether a fish is fresh or previously frozen.  I saw the same fish at superstore and make no mistake, the fish was fresh.  You can easily tell whether a fish has been frozen (especially superstore frozen fish) because it looks paler and mushy.  Now just because it hadn't been frozen before, doesn't mean that its in the best of quality.  Judging by the color of the fish, it looks like it may have been caught either in river or close to it.

Lulz. Why bother fishing? Steveston docks, or natives, will almost certainly sell you fish cheaper than those caught yourself :D

Agreed, that's why flossing is so stupid. Buy your fish bulk from a Commie and then Sturge or bar fish and get them to bite.

Buying from a commercial fisherman is fine.... Buying fish from natives that were caught under a food fishery is illegal.....
