Belly Boat inner tubing
« on: June 01, 2011, 05:02:06 PM »

Hey guys.

Recently my U-boat inside tube went caput.
Left it out int he sun in Merrit while inflated and the next day had a tiny hole on the seam. Patched it, blew it up and seam ripped further.

Question is, where can you buy the inside tube, if you even can at all?
Don't have money right now to buy a new U-boat so would like to get an inside tube.
Anyone have one lying around they would like to sell?

Cheers,
Dan

I had the same problem with my obscure brand U boat.   I googled them and yahoo  they fixed it.    So give a try.   If that doesnt work   try  the store where you got it.   then  try  wholesale sports in Calgary ,     then  if all else doesnt work  buy a new one.

Tried finding them online... couldn't find anything.
Don't remember where I bought it... pretty sure the place I bought it from in the states is now out of business anyways.
Guess Ill have to look for a new one, I was just assuming any bladder would fit since they all seem to be the same size..

Take the measurements of the tube and then goto your local shop. Get them to look up the dimensions of the one they sell, it should be on the box of a new one. If it is close then have then order you one, actually you better make it 2 that way you will have a spare.

If that does not work then goto a truck tire place, living in Chilliwack there should be a few around, show then your tube. They maybe be able to find you a truck tire that is twice the size. You then fold that tire in half and put it in you shell and inflate the tube. That should work, infact it should be better.

--the truck tire is how the originals were built before the fancy bladders.
--this is a great reminder for both belly and pontoons owners.. we used to have a shop in kelowna and often had people stop in who came over the connector with zipper or tube blown out... rapid elevation change as well as temp can blow the tube.

You might try this guy:  http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/pml/for/2381079315.html
or one of the other Craigslist offerings.

Or you patch the tear somewhat and fill the inner tubing with expanding foam. Saw a inflatible dingy done like that because it was old and had lots of leaks. It did weigh a lot though.

I have one you can borrow until you can afford a new one.
