Any NFL fans?
« on: August 27, 2009, 02:30:48 PM »

Hi All.New to the forum. Thought I would see if there are any NFL fans on here, as the season is just around the corner. Tell us who your team is and how you think they'll do this year. And of course a little friendly ribbing is always welcome, but let's keep if civil.

I'll start the fireworks. I'm a Cowboys fan.(that usually sets off everybody that isn't a cowboys fan) Been a fan since '82, all through the glorious 90's and the last 10+ years that we won't talk about. I think they will be better this year without TO, but the NFC East is always tough and you never really know how it's going to shake out. I think we make the playoffs as a wildcard and, who knows, maybe even get our first playoff win in forever.

Hardcore Broncos fan. Even have Broncos tattoos on me. Like every other Broncos fan I am mad. They basically gave Cutler away for nothing. Orton is a bum, the defense is young ( improving though through the draft ) but this is a rebuilding year. I am going to guess they finish 6-10. As long as they finish ahead of the Raiders I am happy. The Chargers will win that division with ease.

Eagles will win the NFC East, the Cowgirls will be second. The Giants and Redskins will suck.

I think your pretty much bang on about the broncos. It's going to be a long frustrating year for broncos fans. I'm not sure what to think about the Raiders. I mean with all those top 10 picks you figure they have to get better as some point. I don't see them challenging for the division title, but I can see them in the wildcard hunt. And as much as I hate to admit it, I think you are right about the Eagles being the favorite going into the season. Maybe Vick will play well enough to create a QB controversy and it will divide the locker room and sink the team. ;)

Not likely on the Vick situation. Dont forget he is suspended for the first 6 games. Also did you see him play tonight? They lined him up all over the field. Everytime Vick was out there so was McNabb. They are going to use Vick all over the place to confuse opposing defenses. It will work too LOL

Raiders problems are two words....AL DAVIS!!!

I feel for you. Not because your a bills fan, but because you came so close on so many occasions back in the early nineties, and came up empty each time. That must have been a hard pill to swallow, over and over and over. ;) I haven't heard much of anything, good or bad, about TO this preseason. What has been the overall impression of him in Buffalo Nation, and do they think he'll be a help or a hindrance?

TO has been nursing an injury and has not been playing in the preseason. Trent Edwards has looked badly in preseason. TO is going to have less catches with a very average QB throwing to him.

I am a Redskins fan. I have been for 25 years. Not much to cheer about the last few years. All that matters is that they beat the Cowboys this year. ;D

In that case it looks like it's going to be another year with not much to cheer about.  ;)

Mind you with the NFC East you just never know. I still remember that Monday Nighter in Washington, back in the 1989 season when Dallas went 1-15. I'm sure you remember that one as well. ;D

We're everywhere! And yes the girls are the icing on the cake. I was at the Bengals game last year and at halftime it was to celebrate the cheerleaders 25th anniversary. They had about 200 cheerleaders there going all the way back to the original season. After the game we were in the coral having a few pints and alot of them were mingling in there. Talk about eye candy. Even some of the older girls(and by old I'm talking about 30's 40's) were still very hot. It was a most enjoyable day.

I'm a huge Pats fan. Now I will brace myself and await the onslaught of bandwagon comments.

The question with Pats fans is how long have you been a fan. Seems like most Pats fans became fans about 10 or so years ago, which is why they are considered some of the worst bandwagon fans in the league. I became a Cowboys fan, and really got into the NFL, in 82 and growing up I never met many, if any, people who said they were pats fans. Of course in no way am I suggesting that you are one of those fans. ;)

Same as they blew chunks and had terrible jerseys LOL

Been a Broncos fan since I was young playing PeeWee football. I will even deal with this current mess they are in. First the Jay Cutler fiasco now the Brandon Marshall Soap Opera. Gotta take the good times with the bad. Hey could be worse could be a Raiders or Lions fan LOL

Surely you don't mean "Patriot Pat" do you? ;) I always thought that was one of the worst team logos. Just my opinion though.

What do you think is going to happen with Marshall? I heard the Jets inquired about trading for him and the Broncos told them they are not trading him. I can't see them expecting him to play and be happy or productive based on what has happened. That's if he even plays at all.
