NEW go to rod is a Shimano technium 10'6 with an Abu C4 reel. Old was the trophy XL with the same reel; now loaded with 65lbs toughline which I find much more fishable than the old fireline.

Trophy 11'6" Custom Series 10-20lb medium casting and Daiwa Millionaire CVZ-300A baitcaster.  I prefer the retrieve and smoothness/finesse of drag on the Daiwa reel but I still prefer my Calcutta for distance casting on the Fraser.  The action on the Trophy rod is good for small fish like cap coho but can also subdue large springs while helping to cushion your leader.  Its only drawback is it is rather heavy.

Daiwa Connoisseur (Tommy Pickering) 13ft Wagger rod and ABU 1044 closed face reel.  Just thought I'd throw a spanner in the works, but it really is my favourite combo.
