Where to stay in Lytton?
« on: August 07, 2008, 01:33:57 AM »

I've got a group of 8 of us that are looking to stay in 2 rooms in Lytton after 9 days of hiking.  6 youth and 2 adults.  A/C would be an important aspect.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Funny you should mention that... I was sure I had put in my original that anywhere EXCEPT the Lytton Hotel would be desirable.  ::)  I guess I thought it but didn't type it.

The youth might like Kumsheen, they coukd stay in a TeePee there. Otherwise I would suggest Braden Lodge. If it were for you and your wife I would suggest you call my freinds at The Inn At The Bridge.

Well, it looks like we're going to stay at the Jade Springs Campground which is right next to Hyack, our chosen rafting company.
Thanks for the input guys. :)

Jade Springs. Ha Ha Ha!
Oughtta be easy to find then ::)

We greyhound up to Whistler on Sunday and chopper in to Tabletop mountain.
Then we spend 9 days hiking the Stein Valley (c.a. 80km) and end up at Jade Springs Campground
Next day - we raft
Day after - home via Greyhound.

Should be a good (if not VERY tiring time)

Sounds like quite the hike.  Could you post some photos of the scenery?

:D  You can certainly expect quite a few photos from me when I get back!

I last did this hike 14 years ago and it's still embedded in my brain as beautiful, rugged and challenging.

Dude, you'll have 20 pounds in camera gear alone!

What are your thoughts on that - I'm always torn between composition (convenient small p/shoot) versus quality (big, non pocketable dslr)...sort of powershot s70 vs 40d.

any conclusions on that dilemma? miss shots because you did not have a pocket cam with you?
