What do you mean how hard did I work for it!!  I fished since first light, with one hit and no fish!!  Probably made about 500 casts.  :o ;D Then at about 11:30 am, I was into 5 fish in about 25 min or so.  ::) ;D  I guess we ran into some fish!!  There wasn't many people fishing the canal at all when I went by!! :)

Ill be out there tomorrow morning, with wool, until i stop think of curing some roe and just do it. Any suggestions when fishing low water, early in the season?

JUST CURE SOME ROE!! ???  All of our fish yesterday came on roe or roe and wool combos!! :)  But as for tips for low clear water, don't go big at all.  Small little wool tidbits, just a bit bigger then a small jensen egg, and a bit lighter leader!!  Try to make sure your bait would be at about eye level for the fish, so, find bottom then shorten up your float about 6-8 ". ;)

Fish can look up but not down. You could be a foot above them in these conditions and if they want it they will take it. As BS said small is best in clear conditions. A piece of wool the size of your fingernail is all you need. Me I like blue wool  ;)

Yes Kieth Wilson, I parked my Red 4Runner under the bridge. I fished the canal for 2 hours and finished with some exploring up the canal roads.
