Indian Arm April 22
« on: April 23, 2006, 10:40:43 AM »

I took a trip up to the Indian Arm yesterday with Lucky, we got on the water at about 1:00 and went out to drop the crab traps. Within around 45 we checked them and didn't have much luck besides alot of Red Rock that we through back. After a few more drop+pick-ups we soon realized that tossing those Red Rocks was a bad decision seeing as how we weren't getting much of anything besides giant startfish >:(. After doing our majority of crabbing we decided to look around for some flounder. I soon found out how much fun catching flounder really was, especially on really light gear! At the end of the day we had 7 crabs in the bucket and just about our limit of flounder :o! Thanks for the trip, Lucky

I fish for them from shore!! :o  I think I even told you where!!  But that was a while back!!  You are welcome to join me though!! ;)  Should be able to get into some.  If you don't have the gear for them, then after the first one I get, then it could be whoever sees the rod go off first gets it!!  I don't usually pay that close of attention to it!! :o ;D

Well if its alright with you, I would love to tag along sometime.
I have never been sturgeon fishing or even seen one in the wild so it could be a nifty expereince.lol.
I do have a bar fishing rod but a sturg might ruin it, and I have that big thick spinning rod.
But I am not really sure on what to use.

Hmm I will have to do some research on that, becuase I think the only kind of line I have close to that is the rope tied to my crab traps, lol.

40lb Mono would work ok as well!!  I have plenty of leader line, so I wouldn't worry about that!!  You will need some bigger weights though, I use between 6 once and 10 once pyramids, depending on the tide!! ;)
