Well, I wouldn't call Matthews a "tread" but he is really, really good. As a Canuck fan I'm jealous we didn't draft him, but the Canucks showed class and did not do what the Leafs did, which was to basically play the Marlies during the final games to guarantee a good drafting position. Some might say it is much like flossing ... legal, but jaysussss.
If the Canucks had tanked last year in their final 3 games against California teams (they won all 3), Matthews or Laine might be in their line up tonight.
The Leafs are a good team and getting better but did they get there in a proper manner? Maybe this how today's hockey management is supposed to work; and work it did, but it still doesn't sit right with me.
It's a real dilemma. Teams should play to win each game but if they lost these final 3 games last year & had a % of getting a higher draft pick....
As FA is stating the Canucks are basically throwing in the rooks thus better chance to lose...
If the Canucks get some great players it truly could spark into having a great competitive team.
As the Canucks are done it's a good time to transition to cheer on Canadian teams to go all the way to Stanley.
FA for GM. He has not said one bad thing about the Canucks.
He even makes losses into positives
Go Oilers Go Go Sens Go Habs Go Go Leafs Go...to he__!
Just joking Chris ...Go Leafs Go...
Please in your up coming advisor meeting give my congrads to Mr Auston Matthews. ( the grandson of Matthews famed CFL coach
