i heard a while back that somewhere along stanley park under the lions gate is a good place for these fish....never tried fishing it though.

Hi, been awhile since i've gone after greenling.  I've had success under the bridge using sea worms, prawns and live bait (shiners) for a vaiety of species including pile perch, rock cod, lingcod, greenling and dog fish. High slack tide is usually the best time to fish; using medium to heavy action rods with a bar rig set-up.  If you want to target greenling, they love sea worms

Ya you could get down from the vancouver side, their is a trail that leads down from the streets to the rocky shoreline.

Hey guys,  I used to fish the seawall all the time,  I still do occassionally.  Don't bother trying to fish off the seawall near lions gate cuz the seawall is closed until may 21 due to resurfacing of the bike path/walking path. I also heard that fishing for rock cod/lingcod is closed.

Yeah, check your regs on fishing for and retaining rock rod and lings.  Greenling are still abundant, so i don't believe they are closed.

vancouver is area 29 so the regs state 1 rockcod and no lingcod  and 3 greenling as daily limits. .....i prefer greenling anyday just because they taste so much better. thanks for alll the info guys ..much appreciate it.

Have any of you guys noticed those white thread-like worms in the flesh of bullheads, flounder, greenling, etc?

oh ya.... and they coil up like a pan cake sometimes. mostly found in the flesh of bullheads and lingcods. never have i got that in flounders/greenling. i sometimes find stuff like blood flukes on the flounders thoe.
