Dude, that sucks so bad... sorry to hear about what happened.  But it sounds like they may have spent a reasonable amount of time in your car, and it's easy for passing cars to dismiss criminal activity as someone simply digging around in their own car.  Something needs to be done about this, but in the meantime perhaps fellow fisherman should be keeping an eye out for stuff like this.  I know I'll be paying extra attention while passing by.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I was up in that area last week and I see cars parked along the road. The problem with that area is that you can see a car coming a mile away.

Sorry to hear that. At least it serves as a warning to you and others not to leave stuff in your car. Luckily it hasn't happened to me and I'm on the river quite a bit but I have also cleaned out everything inside so there is no incentive for them to break in.

Also suprises me that no one has caught these people red handed..the amount of people out there these days is insane , you would think someone would be driving by or walking back to a car.

I was out there this morning and parked just before the on the way store.  As I was walking through the 20 meters or so of bush to the side channel I saw a rubby type fellow in the bushes with his bike, backpack, six pack of coke and 4L jug of paint thinner (no lie, he actually had a 4L jug of paint thinner, thinner and coke must be rubby drink of the day).  I decided it was not a good idea to continue on as my favourite spot was a 10 minute hike from there and I was worried about rubby-dude busting into my vehicle...

I photocopy my insurance papers and then I white out my address.  Then I photocopy them again.  This copy goes in my ride.  This way if my vehicle gets broken into the bastards don't have my home address.  I've heard that they go to your house and break in.  Just a side thought.  If you get pulled over and it's your car, the police already have your address from your license, so it's easy to explain why you have done this.

really the papers are replaceable, missing papers are the least thing I am worried about.. my cues are handmade and cost me a small fortune.... give my left nut to get them back

Maybe when the criminals show up at your house you could offer it to them as your insurance papers do have your address on them.

I moved recently, the papers have my old address on them
