Man those pics make me wanna move there, what a beautiful looking place !!  :-\
I don't think I would want to use up my vacation time from work on a trip there lol
TR

You dont have family here. We can afford to take many trips a year and my wife gets time off between shows so thats when we go away. I think its beautiful here. Dad and I were outside about an hour ago helping a neighbour dig out of their driveway. Winds were about 60mph. Although tough it was a great experience. Reminds me of Sumas Prairie as a kid when we were on my grandparents farm and the snow would blow so hard the drfits would pile up to the top of the barn.

So this morning we wake up and we are trapped. All the doors to the house have been covered by the snow. Dad needs to get to his shed to get his snow blower so I decided to dig us out. The main entrance is the side door and you cannot open it as the snow infront of it is near the top of the door. That door also pushes open so thats a lost cause. Go down to the basement and open the door. The snow is up to the top of the door. I grabbed the shovel and start digging us out. ( should have taken a before picture but wasnt thinking of that at the time) Here is the result after the fact.

Here is where I dug out

Here is the side door which I will dig out after dad uses the snow blower on the driveway

Here are just a couple more just because

Hopefully by tomorrow I can get out for some exploring.

Talk to you all soon.

Sounds like fun  ;D . Now I know why we go to cuba. The only digging there is in the sand  ;D .

So today was sight seeing day. The skies opened up and it was a beautiful bright sunny day. After breakfast we headed out.

First stop was St.John's Harbour

Up next Signal Point ( we couldnt get to the top because the roa was closed due to the snow )

and just to give you an idea how bad the snow storm was ;)

There were many more places we wanted to visit but because of the snow many roads were closed. The rest of the week is book solid with plans so we most likely wont be able to make it ou again unless its Sunday.

This place is more beautiful than I imagined.

So this morning we decided to go out again. We found out that the previously closed roads had opened. So we started out today with Cape Spear. This is an amazing place and by far my favorite place on this trip. I must have take over 40 photos here. So here are just a few.

Last stop was to view Bell Island

Thats it for sight seeing. Tonight I am to watch the kids as the wife goes out. Tomorrow I am heading out to George Street for some bar action with my wife, her brother and some other people. Saturday the forecast calls for snow so proabably wont do much on the weekend. We leave on Monday for home.

To be honest I am getting home sick. As much as I think this is a beautiful place their is no place like home. Maybe if I had more opportunities to get out and do things on my own I would not be feeling this way. When we go to places like Mexico I dont get like this so it must be from not being able to do what I want.
