good bar fishing July 4
« on: July 04, 2006, 02:52:18 PM »

Managed to sneak out this morning for what we hoped would be a relaxing day waiting for the bell to ring, but was pleasantly disappointed to tag out before 8am with our 2 springs, caught before our bottom-snagger buddies got theirs! Red top spin-n-glos.

THIS-

Was taken just after THIS-

Yeah for sure, seems like either a lot of bar fisherman are out there reporting, or else theres a great deal of chinook out there  ;D ;D ;D ;D.  I like the latter and I hope lots make it to make more chinook in 4+ years time.

Bar fishing has been very good needless to say of late. When out for a boat ride  ;D ;D ;D on the weekend not all that many BB'ing in the Island 22 area which at this time of year is benifiting all of us. Talked to a FOC person that was out checking things out on on alll bars in the Chilliwack area on Monday, have not received an update on her findings.

Most of the BB' ing going on at Grassy. :o :o

Good to see stepped up enforcement by the conservation officers. Are they actually makeing bottom bouncers stop or are they useing the same ambiguous language used on their web-site ie. anglers are requested to use selective methods?

In my post above I have corrected the statement I made "not much bar fishing going on around Island 22" when I should have said "not much bottom bouncing going" Is age catching up with me? ;D ;D

Just got a call from "The Master" nothing yetthis morning and he started fishing around 6 but I am sure his bell will toll shortly. ;D Yesterday his party of four got a chinook each. ;D ;D

Once again, great to see the run as strong so far this season. ;D ;D ;D

Success doesn't seem to be about being on a specific bar, there are lots of springs around. As for my favorites, I like to fish the 4-5 miles of water starting at the Harrison and heading up.
