Most salmon (except Pinks) return at 4 years old - I have heard as old as 7 years.

There are also 'Jacks' which are younger fish that are nature's way of rebuilding a stock incase there is a catastrophic event that knocks out a whole years run.

Not 100% sure about Steelhead.

Are there "jackys" or "jackettes"?
What I mean is are there any female jacks?

Pinks return every 2yrs

coho 4yrs?   They are usually 3 year old fish.  Coho spend 1 year in freshwater residency and then head to sea.  Coho jacks have had one season at sea.  All larger coho get their amazing growth more or less from one season in the ocean.
chinook ..?  Chinook can be anywhere from 2 - 7 or even 8 years old, depending upon the system.  Some will stay in freshwater streams for 3 years I've heard before leaving for the sea.  On average, I understand the larger fish usually have 3-4 years at sea to fatten up.
steelhead 3yrs?  Not entirely sure about how long they live, but they can have repeat spawning although the rigours of spawning are fairly strenuous so some do die.

Sockeye - 4-5 years; Usually 1, very rarely 2 years of freshwater residency, apart from a Harrison strain which goes to sea immediately like pinks.

Chum - 4 years, head to sea shortly after hatching from the gravel.

whats their life expectancy?
