I was reading some fishing reports on other websites and I came upon this one on Aug 9, 2003

"Lots of hits, caught 4 Rainbows between 6-8 inches and 2 14 inches. Also caught one small Bass about 6 inches and 3 Perch, who was the wise guy who put Perch in this lake. I have been Fishing Mill Lake for 3 years and never caught a perch there before now some wise guy has introduced one of the most damaging fish in this nice little lake. Well hopefuly Fisheries will do something about it quickly, I reported it to them."

Perch in lowermainland lakes would be a disaster!

Also has crappie and pumpkin seed, the only reason trout are in there is because they stock it. Its over run with these predators. This is nothing new. Anytime the bucket brigade dumps bass in a system they usually follow it up with perch to make them larger.

ironic, because what usually happens in these small lakes is that they plant perch to make bass larger, but everything becomes stunted and the lake usually needs to be re-habbed.

If people are that obsessed about bass, there should be one lake devoted to bass. Maybe that will stop people from destroying good lakes.

I'm pretty sure it is a crime to plant fish in public waterbodies in Washington.  However, catching people who do this is not an easy task.  It would be nice if the punishment was to make that person pay for the rehab of that lake and make a donation to supplement enforcement activities.
