Nice might want to rethink C&R sockeye though.

I think everyone that reads that will be happy you got your first Fraser spring, but I don't know man, killing all those sockeye in your search for a spring by c & r just ain't worth it. :( :(

i have released a couple of sockeye, only reason for doing so , was because they were missing parts bleeding, flesh hanging out from seals and gash marks from the nets, suprised a fish this beat up was still alive, so yes i would release those ones i only hooked 2 ugly ones the rest i kept

Off topic here, but i've always thought that fish were a lot hardier then given credit for...You catch fish like this from time to time, some with huge scar marks on them and wonder how they survived...then you take a 5 second picture of one laying next to the water and you get Flamed for that????

the first sockeye of the day yesterday had 3 snag marks. one under its chin, one near te tapered part of its tail, and another right under its adipose. Just goes to show you, ya never know how hardy the fish can be. ;)

Excellent point Golfman. Fish are a lot hardier than what alot of people give them credit for. I'm sure we've all seen fish with seal bites, scars from nets, treble hooks, etc.

At a hatch i sometimes work at theres fish with nearly 1/4 of them missing still spawning. Jaws gone, tails gone ect. The real brute chinooks sometimes have 2/3 hootchie and anchovie setups still in their mouths from the chuck.
