Haiti Earthquake
« on: January 13, 2010, 12:24:45 PM »

By now most of us have heard of the devastating quake in Haiti yesterday. Consider making a donation to the Red Cross or some other agency that will direct the funds to help this country and the people effected by the devastation. Every dollar will help.

Chris To help those people now is so important for those who have extra money... "love in action".  100.000 est. killed & many who have major injuries.  Lots of sadness & heartache & pain in that part of the world.  China had their major one not so long ago... & who knows Canada or the USA just may have one major quake one day.
World Vision or the Red Cross are 2 of many worthy organizations that will be there helping out.

China is richer now to stand a bad quake with national power, but Haiti is one of the poorest nations and even its government institution is in shamble now with the collapse of many government buildings. They need help from the world outside badly. Give what you can. Made my donation on line today at www.redcross.ca and any small amount will help the suffering people there. Make sure to mark the donation for Haiti. Have a nice day and count our blessings.

Just a heads up about callers claiming to be Red Cross representatives asking for donations for Haiti relief. They are nothing more than scam artist taking advantage of a tragedy. Scums of the earth.

Good point , tell them you will make a donation if that is your intention. Then just tell the scammers you'll call back on your own through the legit line given in the directory instead of the number the scammer has give you .

I have made a substantial personal donation to the red Cross for Haiti.

Did I get this correct, Canada (the feds)  are sending one water treatment plant, one Sea King helicopter onboard a frigate, one transport plane plus 200 support personnel?  If that is correct we need to be ashamed because we could hardly do any less.

Glad to see so many donating from throughout the world to help ease the pain and suffering of so many, its so depressing. It also makes one feel so helpless but the best most of us can do is send some money. Every dollar helps and our family has made our donation to the Red Cross. Please consider giving some funds to the charity of your choice in the days ahead.

It always amazes me how fast reporters are able to arrive but the help in aid and manpower takes a little longer?

10,000 and climing.
