Bar Fish Out
« on: August 29, 2007, 08:08:19 PM »

Well now that the Fraser has been re-opened is anyone up for a bar fish out? I noticed that there was a thread on this before but nothing ever happened due to high water levels/ river closure. So nows our chance. How does saturday sound?

I'll be out on the river in between Vedder and Jespersons all weekend. Look for the little putt-putt trying to make it up the river ;D

I have a feeling the river will be exceedingly busy this weekend (hopefully not with bb'ers) so I am reccomending that we go to a boat access bar that can accomodate a large group. How about we just do a re-peat of last year. Maple Leaf Bar No. 2 Meet at island 22 at 6am.

Can everyone who is attending please list down what they have availible to ie boats, rods, rod holders, etc.

I can bring an extra rod, reel, and rod holder. I may also be able to get my hands on a boat but cannot guarentee it.

Just a thought, the bar below the pipeline on Hwy 7 downstream from Hope would be an excellent bar for walkin bar fishing good current, good deapth off shore about two or three kms. of bar to fish, the only problems might be with the bottom bouncers, and the slightly too large rocks on the bottom. Although the use of railway spikes on breakaway riggings might cure the second problem the only way to combat the first problem would be to show up in numbers and early.

The bouncers on that bar are always on the ends. pretty funny to see as they are all crowded into a small area fishing shoulder to shoulder when the bar is huge. This is also a great bar to toss a fly.
