Pretty cool.
I got to experience this in 1993 while in Tofino on a fishing charter. A momma Orca had a partially dead seal and was teaching its pup how to hunt. The pup eventually tossed the seal onto the rock island beach edge with momma breaching in the back ground. Will never forget that moment.

I thought southern orca's typically did not feed on seals......   is this new behaviour due to low  chinook numbers

there are 2 sub-species of Orca  on our coast. The Southern Residents, which are primarily salmon eaters and the Biggs or Transient whales which primarily eat sea mammals. The 2 do not inter mix, bred or socialize. Genetic evidence suggests they are separated by many tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years
