Nice one!  I will never forget my first fish on the fly (only this fall!).  By the time I hit chum season on the squamish i was starting to feel like a real fly man.  Well, reality quickly brought my ego back down to size as salmon season passed and I look at my 0 for 10 stats since. ??? ??? ???  Apparently my rookie status was conceled by hundreds of aggressive dogs flooding the systems.

Alas I keep plugging away in hopes of that first steelie on the fly........

Did you catch it on one of your custom flys???

the first one was with an egg pattern the guys at Reaction Fly gave me...then i thought about it and put one of mine on for the second one and the one in the picture..Don't feel bad about the steelies, i'm 0 for a bunch too...i'm trying to come up with some patterns that will work for them...i'm convinced you need to use a stinger to make sure you get one when it does hit so i'm doing a lot of tieing with that..
