Attaching A Drennan

Hi Everyone,

Was hoping that someone could give me an idea of how to attach a drennan float. I purchased rubber float stops but they don't work too well. Is there a way with a toothpick?

Thread your main line through the float stopper, then through the Drennan. Move the stopper up and down the line depending on the depth of water you are fishing. Some people use toothpicks. The downside of a toothpick is that sometimes it gets waterlogged and tough to take out.

toothpicks. downside is yes, they can break short and get water logged, but if that happens, I just use a vacuum and suck it out ;D. did it last night :D

check out the drennan website.  They sell something called a leger stop, this is basically a tiny piece of plastic tube (which you thread onto the line), with an even smaller plastic peg that fits into the tube and therefore locks onto the line.  These can be bought at all tackle shops in the UK but I have yet to see them for sale over here.  They will even hold lead weights in place!
