Vedder River Fishing 2/2/2006
« on: February 02, 2006, 02:43:02 PM »

Went out with my buddy Dan today. Met CG and had a nice talk with him about his amazing catch last evening- not to mention the truck in the ditch!!!!

The river was a bit murky in the morning but it cleaned up a bit as the day went along. Fishing was slow but the day was still young.

We both headed up river a bit as we can see that people starting to move around.

I got to this tail end that looked like it might hold fish. A few minutes into it, I hooked a nice fish but my leader broke off at the hook. ??? ???

I was lucky that Dan was with me as I would never have landed anything without his assistance. A few more minutes into it, my float went down and a couple of runs, the hook came off. Put on another roebag, and boom!! another one was on again. A few headshakes and off it went again.

It was starting to get frustrating!! Dan told me to change my hook size to a #1. The next cast, I got a beauty on and this time the connection stayed on.

Overall, a nice day of fishing.

I saw it shortly after steelieman landed it and it was a beautiful fish. ;D Hearing that he had hooked 4 and I had had not a bite in the morning it got me all fired up  for the afternoon. ;D Will do the journal after supper.
