DNE Hooks
« on: November 02, 2005, 08:16:14 AM »

Anyone given them a try yet? They are made in the same factory as owners and are cheap like borche. The points on them are like razors and dont get dull. Highly recommend trying them out if you haven't. I've straightened out lots of gammys this year in early Coho season and have yet to have a problem with DNE's.

Yah what is the deal with the gammies anything but the red ones just straighten out on any rock. Eagle claw seem to work the best for me but they also have a problem on the bend of the just before the shafts they have some kinda weak spot. I had a huge spring on broke it of there. Tried to pinch the barb one time and broke in the exact same place.

I like Eagle Claws, they're cheaper and easier to sharpen. Caught lots of salmon and steelheads on those.

I like Eagles Claws "Barbless Steelhead" hooks. their cheap, and sharp enough. ive caught lotsa salmon on them so far since i tried them last month. I also tried the new Owner hooks. Super sharp and dont even seem to bend. VERY EXPENSIVE THOUGH$$$

I've tried the Vision hooks when they came on the market. Very poor quality control in my opinion. Alot of the hooks were defective. Haven't used them since.

I have confidence in Gami's. you will never see me use a Eagle Claw. Visions are definatly strong hooks but for sharpness they just don't make it for me. Owners are amazing but $$$$$ even for me. The DNE look good, but i have not yet used them. If TroutSlayer can land a fish with them that says alot cuz he never lands anything.  ;D
