Just returned from the Chehailis on Friday. The first day my son and I stopped in at the hatchery of coarse as I allways do There were about 15 Coho and two Stealhead in the hatchery channel and allot of chum . We walked down to the channel mouth to the main river and what do ya know ? probably no suprise to anyone , there was hardly a trickle of water going down! , just enough to bring in a few fish

. We stayed anyway at the campground . The Easter Seal run is still in good shape but then the river swings to the left and into the FNIR at about 60+ feet wide into the forest. Needless to say we didn't get so much of a sniff at the EasterSeal run . We decided to give it a whirl and go for a hike down the dried out river bed hoping to find where the main river comes out of the bush to no avail , so we turned and headed back to camp for a rest. The next Day we hiked into the canyon , lots of water, chum and the odd Pink but no Coho yet?. I talked to one fellow there and said he hiked into the river down below into the FNIR and got booted out. Anyway , it was in interesting outing to say the least
