Chilliwack/Vedder River Cleanup Day

Well attended my first Chilliwack River Cleanup Day. Was impressed with how things were run, and got to meet some of the other fishing people on this site. However, pretty disappointed in the amount of garbage that people leave behind at the river. What are these people thinking or are they thinking at all?? The group i was with managed to fill to overflowing the whole back of a full size pickup truck with garbage and other junk. If it wasn't for the efforts of volunteers cleaning up all this mess, one could only imagine what a god awful mess the river system would be.
Being a new resident of Chilliwack, you would think people would take pride in such a great river, but I guess there will always be that selfish group of people who don't give a hoot about others. And to the others in my cleanup group, Fran, April, and Butch, take a bow for putting in such a great effort.
